Graveside funeral services for Vera Mauldin Hill, “Little Mama”, 91, of Ashburn will be held Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens in Cochran, Ga. Mrs. Hill died Saturday at Heritage Health Care in Ashburn following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hill was born in Turner County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Millie Sumner Mauldin. She lived in Cochran, Ga. for 20 years before moving back to Ashburn. She was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church and was retired from B.C. Moore in Cochran, Ga. She served many years as a Foster Grandparent and enjoyed working in her flowers. She was the widow of Carl C. Hill. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sylvia Hill Cook and her brothers and sisters, O.B. Mauldin John R. Mauldin, Mary Van Russell, Edith Herbert, Ida Mae Woods, Mimilee Vance and Sara Lou Gray.
Mrs. Hill is survived by two daughters, Nettie H. Walker, Ashburn, and Peggie H. Beard, Waycross, Ga. Also surviving are four brothers, Edward Mauldin, Columbus, Ga., Charles Mauldin, Eatonton, Ga., Jerry Mauldin, Las Vega, Nevada, and Gordon Mauldin, Clearwater, Florida; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
