Samuel "Sam" Perry Moore

Funeral services for Samuel “Sam” Perry Moore, 79, of Sycamore, GA will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mr. Moore died Friday at the Golden Living Center in Tifton following an extended illness.

Mr. Moore was born in Ray City, GA and was the son of the late Samuel B. and Rena Lee Sangster Moore. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Morningside Baptist Church in Ashburn. He was a retired insurance agent for United American after fifteen years. He enjoyed playing the fiddle and dancing. He was preceded in death by two sons, Dexter Moore and Hal Rodney Moore; two brothers, John H. Moore and Bruce Moore and one grandson, Justin Huffstullter.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Wiggins Moore, Sycamore, GA, his children; Kenneth P. Moore, Columbia, TN, Bruce Dewayne Moore, Valdosta, GA, Chris L. Wood, Sycamore, GA, Darlene (Randy) Simpkins, Ashburn, GA, Donald Jason Moore, Valdosta, GA, Jerry Windham, Sylvester, GA, Theresa Ann (Greg) Hercick, Valdosta, GA, and Stanley Cornel Moore, Sycamore, GA. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
