Elsie Newton McLeod

Funeral services for Elsie Newton McLeod, 97, of Sycamore, GA will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sycamore Methodist Church with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mrs. McLeod died Monday at her residence in Sycamore following an extended illness.

Mrs. McLeod was born in Sycamore, the daughter of the late Jasper Welton & Faithie Jane Covington Newton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sycamore Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juke W. McLeod and two sons, J.W. “Buddy” McLeod and Dr. Ralph McLeod.

She is survived by her sister, Wilda Newton Rutland, Albany, GA; five grandchildren: Steve McLeod, Sycamore, GA, Kathy McLeod Smith and her husband C.L. of Tifton, GA, Alan McLeod, Brian McLeod, both of Sycamore, GA, and Dane McLeod, Valdosta, GA. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren: Adam, Brandon, Ashley, Blake, & Justin McLeod, all of Sycamore, GA.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
