Funeral Services for Mr. Willie B. Hobby, 86, of 515 Hobby Farm Rd., Ashburn will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at the Harmony Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hobby passed away Friday, May 7 in an Ashburn Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
The son of the late Dave Alfred and Beulah Elizabeth Whiddon Hobby, he was born and had lived all his life in Turner Co. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. His love for his family, his farm and his cows was immeasurable. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian McCorvey Hobby in December 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda McCard Hobby, Ashburn; a son, Dr. Dwight Hobby, Leesburg, Ga.; his Daughters, Sandra Shaw, Dothan, Al; Beth NeSmith, Sycamore, Ga.; Kathryn Bell, Valdosta, Ga.; A step-son, Royce Hopkins, Lizella, Ga.; Step-Daughters, Debbie Cohen, Tifton, Ga,; Cynthia Exum, Leesburg, Ga.; Stacey Houston, Tallahassee, Fla.; A sister, Nadine H, Haywood, North Augusta, S.C.; 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren; 9 Step-Grandchildren and 3 Step-Great-Grandchild.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 till 9 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
