Funeral services for Mr. Grant J. Crockett, 64, of Ashburn, GA will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at New Mount Olive Baptist Church at 1:00 PM. On Saturday, September 8 he quietly departed this life at home with love ones by his side. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery in Ashburn.

Mr. Crockett, the son of the late Nellie Mae and Lonnie Crockett was born on December 16, 1947 in Turner Co., GA. He attended the former Eureka High and Elementary School. He moved to West Palm Beach, FL at an early age, where he joined Christian Temple AME Church where he served faithfully and served as an usher. Mr. Crockett was retired from Murphy Construction Co., where he worked for thirty seven years as a heavy equipment operator. After retirement he moved back to Ashburn to be with family and friends and joined New Mount Olive Baptist Church where he attended faithfully until his health failed him. Grant enjoyed his family, friends and life itself. He will be missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Michael Crockett, his sisters and brothers, Margaret Spears, Betty Crockett, Ethel Martin, Sandy Crockett, Willie Frank Crockett and David Crockett.

Mr. Crockett leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Wanda Crockett, West Palm Beach, FL; a loving and devoted companion Cynthia Young, Ashburn, GA; a sister, Julia Crockett, Ashburn, GA ; a brother, Edward (Fannie) Crockett, West Palm Beach, FL; his aunt, Beulah Crockett, Ashburn, GA; a brother in law, Eddie Spears, Ashburn, GA. And a host of nieces, nephews and mourning friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 14 from six until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
