Karlene Coker Martenn

Funeral services for Karlene Coker Martenn, 76, of Ashburn, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Sycamore Baptist Church. Mrs. Martenn passed away Thursday at her residence following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.

The daughter of the late Carl Newton and Ora Lela Guess Coker she was born in Turner County and was a registered nurse. She retired as director from the Turner County Health Dept. Mrs. Martenn was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Charles Martenn, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Chuck Martenn; Judy M. (Jerry) Whitehead all of Ashburn and Beth M. (Jaime) Montano of Almaty, Kazakhstan. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and her sister, Lunelle C. Smith of Ashburn.

The family will receive friends from six until eight Friday evening at Perry Funeral Chapel.
