Melba Sikes

Funeral Services for Mrs. Melba McCard Sikes, 85, of Ashburn, Ga. will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Sikes passed away Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Starcrest Nursing Home in Cartersville, Ga. following a lengthy illness.

A native and long time resident of Turner Co., she was the daughter of the late H. L. and Hattie Burdette McCard, Sr. and was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church. She was the widow of Gene T. Sikes. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, H. L. McCard, Jr., Lanier McCard and Bobby McCard.

Survivors include her daughter, Harriet S. Wilson and her husband, Howard L. “Buck” Wilson, Acworth, Ga.; 3 Sisters, Hilda Hobby, Ashburn, Ga.; Faye Scott, Pottstown, PA., Lois Blair, Columbus, Ga.; 2 Grandchildren, Lt. Colonel Scott Wilson and his wife Leighanne of Ft. Hood Texas,; Paige Wilson Carter and her husband Joe of High Point, N.C. 2 Great-Grandchildren Kaylee Grace Wilson and Olivia Faith Wilson both of Ft. Hood, Texas.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 till 8 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
