Margaret P. Beard

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Perry Beard, 92, of Sycamore will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 26, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Turner Co., GA. Mrs. Beard died at her home on April 24.

Mrs. Beard was born in Colquitt Co., GA and was the daughter of the late Edward Horace and Susie Johnson Perry. She was a graduate of Norman College and Georgia Southern College. For 33 years she taught elementary education in Georgia, most of that being in the Glynn County School System. Mrs. Beard and her husband lived in Brunswick, GA for 38 years and it was there they raised their three sons, Allen, Barry and Perry Beard.

She was a member of The Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Thad Houston Beard who passed away, April 9, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her son, Allen C. Beard, her granddaughter, Sarah Beard and her sister Mildred Perry Saunders.

Mrs. Beard is survived by her two sons, Barry (Pam) Beard, Snellville, GA and Perry (Janet) Beard, Alpharetta, GA; daughter in law Cathy Beard Hill, Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her sisters, Lenelle Perry, Hendersonville, NC, Nena Perry and Ann Partain both of Americus, GA.

The family will receive friends Friday morning from 11:00 AM till 12:30 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
