Funeral services for Edward V. Black, 77, of Eastman, GA will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Snowridge Cemetery in Ashburn. Mr. Black died Monday in Eastman following an extended illness.
Mr. Black was born in Madison, GA, the son of the late Edward Roy and Effie Lee Busby Black. He was a retired farmer and mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Spires; four brothers, John Davenport, Forrest Black, Howard Black, and Buddy Black; four sisters, Elvada Davenport Holloway, Virginia Davenport, Ethel Black and Betty Ann Branch.
He is survived by five daughters, Cindy Ann Harper, Holbrock, Arizona, Mary Alice Black, Douglas, GA, Judy Kay Peterson, Fitzgerald, GA, Elizabeth Ann Singletary (William), Eastman, GA and Barbara Ann Frias (Tomas), Gordon, GA; three sons, Eddie Lee Black, Enigma, GA, Edward V. Black, Jr., Milan, GA and John Wayne Black, Warner Robins, GA. and one sister, Winnie Holloway, Milan, GA.
Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, Johnny, James, Barbara, Robert, Dianne, Eddie, Christina, Rosanna, Jaime, Matthew, Joshua, Lorena, David, Christopher, Levi, Tiffany, William, Bobby, Helen, Stephanie, Tomas, Jr., Augustine, Myra, Sumner, John Jr. and Hailey and 22 great-grandchildren, cousins nieces, nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
