Karyn Hobbs Reed

Funeral services for Karyn Hobbs Reed, 62, of Rebecca, GA will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 14, 2013 at The Ashburn First Baptist Church. Mrs. Reed passed away Wednesday surrounded by her loving family after an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Rebecca, GA.

The daughter of the late Curtis Henry and Julia Faye Jones Hobbs, she was born in Vienna, GA. She was a retired supervisor of Atlanta Gas & Light Co. Mrs. Reed graduated from Valdosta State College in 1972 and worked with Atlanta Gas Light Co. in Valdosta before being transferred to the Conyers office in 1987. In 1997 she retired and moved to Turner Co. Mrs. Reed was a faithful member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated church worker and a member of The Scripture Searchers Sunday School Class.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cole Reed in 2000.

Survivors include her husband Donald L. Reed, Rebecca, GA; her children, Jessica (Drew) S. Clarke, Mechanicsville, VA, Diane (Jeff) R. Lamb, Ashburn, GA, Donna (Alan) R. Lynn, Jefferson, GA, Michael (Stephanie) Reed, Rebecca, GA; her loving six grandchildren; a sister, Debbie H. Walls, Cordele, GA and a brother, Carl (Sheila) Hobbs, Ashburn, GA.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
