Marion Jones

Funeral services for Marion V. Jones, age 71, 1112 McNair Rd., Ashburn will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 21, 2004 at the Dakota Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Dakota Cemetery. Mr. Jones died Thursday, August 19, 2004 at Tift Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Jones was born in Upson County, Georgia and had resided in Turner County for over 65 years. He was the son of the late Augustus “Gus” and Clydie Mae Hilton Jones. He was retired from the Turner County Board of Education Transportation Department and was a member of the Dakota Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Trustee of Woodman of the World Lodge #106.

He is survived by his wife, June Phillips Jones, Ashburn, Ga. one son and daughter in law, Danny & Christy Jones, Sr., Cordele, Ga. one daughter, Rhonda J. Black, Arabi, Ga. He is also survived by two brothers, Jake Jones, Albany, Ga. and Franklin Jones, Ashburn, Ga. and one sister, Ruth Bass, Warwick, Ga. and three grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Friday, August 20, 2004 from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
