Cecil W. Brooks

Funeral Services for Cecil W. Brooks, age 73 of Ocilla, Ga. will be held Friday at 10:00 A. M. at the New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Brooks died Tuesday September 10, 2013 at his residence after a long illness.

Mr. Brooks was a native of Immokalee, FL the son of the late Roy Buster and Ruby Murray Brooks. He was a member of the Baptist Faith and had served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was a retired longtime employee of Tide Fertilizer Company of Ashburn. He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Jane Ward Brooks.

He is survived by his children Carl Wesley Brooks, Ashburn, GA, Darlene Turner , Rebecca, GA, Patricia (Melecio) Vargas, Ashburn, GA, and Rebecca Beltran, Sycamore, GA. and his brothers and sisters Fred Allen Brooks, Vera Mae Brooks, Alice Faye (Joe) Castle all of Apopka, FL, Ralph Lamar Brooks, Valdosta, Ga. and Ethel Louise (Lee) Marshall, OR and Fourteen Grandchildren and Fourteen Great-Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from Six until Eight at the Funeral Home.
