Hoyt W. Reid

Funeral Services for Hoyt W. Reid, age 86 of Ashburn will be Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Oklahoma Cemetery in Wilcox County, GA. Mr. Reid died Sunday October 13, 2013 after an extended illness.

Mr. Reid was a lifelong resident of Turner County, GA the son of the late Cecil Wray and Iskey Odessa Seay Reid and was a retired farmer. He was a long time member of the Amboy Baptist Church and had received The Farm Family of the Year Award from the Turner County Chamber of Commerce and served in the National Guard. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of sixty four years Glynette Story Reid and his son Wray (Paula) Reid of Ashburn, GA and his daughter Elaine (Harold) Worley of Cordele, GA and his brother Juhan (Jean) Reid, Statenville, GA and his sister Ceciler R. (Tommy) Carter, Sycamore, Ga. and Five Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from Six until Eight at Perry Funeral Home, Ashburn, GA
