Sherman Burdett

Funeral services for Mr. Sherman Burdett, 85, of Ashburn, GA will be held Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Turner County. Mr. Burdett passed away, Saturday, following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.

Mr. Burdett, the son of the late Charlie Sherman and Lizzie Jane Burdett and was born in Crisp County, GA. Mr. Burdett was a retired farmer, which was one of his favorite parts of life, enjoyed working in his yards and the flower garden. He also enjoyed singing, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Burdett was preceeded in death by his wife, Katie Mae Nelson Burdett.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna B. (Ralph) Lumpkin, his grandchildren, Deedy (Eric) Eidenire, Warwick, GA; Kayla (Matthew) Shipley, Fayetteville, NC; Jaclyn Lumpkin, Clinton, SC and his great grandchildren, John, Brian, and Rachel Eidenire, Warwick, GA.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
