Troy Nyles Brooks

Funeral Services for Troy Nyles Brooks, age 82, of Ashburn, GA will be held Saturday at 3:00 P. M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Brooks died Wednesday January 15, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Brooks was born in Turner County, GA the son of the late Ira L. and Pearlie Vitula “Tula” Hall Brooks. He was a retired salesman for Procter and Gamble for over thirty years. He had served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing Golf at the Forest Lakes Country Club of which he was a member, and keeping his yards in pristine condition. He had been a resident of Mobile, AL for a long number of years before moving back to Ashburn in March of 2004.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie Hardy Brooks, Ashburn, GA, his children Steven N. (Teri) Brooks, Davidson, N. C., Troy Buren (Wendy) Brooks, Covington, GA, Marcia B. (Bruce) Krutel, El Granada, CA. and his grandchildren Lila Meyer, Portland, OR, Lily Krutel, Oakland, CA, Lea Krutel, Pescadero, CA, Steven “Mick” Brooks, Todd Brooks, Margaret “Meg” Brooks all of Davidson, N. C., Andrew “Drew” Brooks, Athens, GA and Delanie Brooks, Covington, GA and his Great-Granddaughter Ilana Meyer, Portland, OR.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 P.M. until time of services at the funeral home
