Funeral services for Clovis Amelia Kelley Ray, 81, of Sycamore, GA will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Mrs. Ray passed away Friday at Tift Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery.
The daughter of the late Qunnie Capitol Kelley and Myra Alice Knowles Forshee she was born in Dothan, AL and was a member of The Bethel Baptist Church. She was a retired nurse’s aide from Tift Regional Medical Center. She has resided in Turner County since 1968 moving from Miami, FL. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was the widow of Hugh Everett “Dick” Ray. She was also preceded in death by her son, Steven Schley, her daughter Valeria Schley and a granddaughter Savanah Weeks.
Survivors include her daughters, Debbie (Teddy) Fletcher of Sycamore, GA and Myra (David) Weeks of Crosland, GA. Her grandchildren, Kelley (Peter) Wilson of Sycamore, GA, Kristy (Jon) Penuel of Barney, GA, Jacob Weeks, Crosland, GA and two great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Irma Carney, Tampa, FL.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until the hour of services at 2:00 PM.
