Franklin D. Jones

Funeral services for Franklin D. Jones, 78, of Ashburn, Ga., will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 11, 2014, at Dakota Baptist Church in Turner County, Ga. Interment will follow at Dakota Cemetery. Mr. Jones passed away Friday, August 8, 2014 at his residence after an extended illness.

The son of the late Augustus Reese "Gus" and Clydie Mae Hilton Jones, he was born in Upson County, Ga. He was a retired truck driver for Sycamore Gas Company. Franklin was a member of the Dakota Baptist Church, a former long term Mason and Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Christian Jones of Ashburn, Ga., two daughters, Sheila (Anthony) Myers of Cleveland, Ga., Kelly (Kenny) Johnson of Ashburn, Ga., a brother Jake (Mary) Jones, a sister Ruth Bass of Warwick, Ga. , five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 10, 2014 from five until seven o'clock at the Perry Funeral Chapel, Inc. in Ashburn, Ga.
