Christine Howard Avery

Funeral services for Christine Howard Avery, 88, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 25, 2014 at The Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Avery passed away Friday at the Rehab Center of South GA in Tifton, GA after an extended illness. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Avery was born in Turner County, GA to the late Addis Pirkle and Minnie Lee Howard and had resided in Turner County most of her life. She was a housewife and homemaker and a member of The Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Baxter Avery and a daughter, Marsha Jean Campbell.

Survivors include her son, Alvin Lynn Avery of Adel, GA; her daughters, Diane Short of Newnan, GA, Nancy McCabe of Ashburn, GA, Cathy Warren of Adel, GA. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Her sister Louise Hickman of Ashburn, GA and her brothers, Wayne Howard of Arizona and Edward Howard of Irwinville, GA.

The family will receive friends Monday morning at Bethel Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
