Mattie Belle Harp Doss

Funeral Services for Mattie Belle Harp Doss, age 88, of 428 S. Lee Street, Ashburn, Ga. will be held Wednesday December 1, 2004, at 11:00 A. M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Doss died Sunday at Ashburn Health Care after a brief illness.

Mrs. Doss was a native and life long resident of Turner County, the daughter of the late Harrison M. and Mattie Belle Horne Harp. She was a retired Legal Secretary and Insurance Agent. She was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church. She was a long time Sunday School and Bible School Teacher and substitute pianist at Sycamore Baptist Church and former substitute school teacher at Sycamore High School. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank A. Doss on July 17, 2002.

She is survived by her children Frank T. Doss, Ashburn and Emilie Doss Davis, Sulphur, Louisana, her brother, Major (U.S. A. F. – Retired) David Harp, Ashburn, her sister Dora Elizabeth Pitts, Columbus, Ga. three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening six until eight at the funeral home.
