Elder Jim Young

Elder Jim Young, 77, of 1218 North Park Avenue, Tifton, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Tifton, Georgia with interment to follow at Oakridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of the service.

Elder Young was a retired minister of the Primitive Baptist Faith. During his years in the ministry he served as minister of churches in Miami as well as several South Georgia Churches including Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church in Worth County, Georgia. He was also a member of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Tifton, Georgia.

Elder Young is survived by his wife, Ellen McMurrain Young of Tifton, Georgia, his son, James Charles (Phyliss Jean) Young, Jr. of Blueridge, Georgia, his daughter, Christine Richman of Tifton, Georgia and two grandchildren, J. T. Young and Justin Young both of Blueridge, Georgia.
