John A. Harrell

Funeral services for John A. Harrell, 75, of Sycamore, GA, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, November 24, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church in Turner County, GA. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church cemetery. Mr. Harrell passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 after a sudden illness.

The son of the late John Wiley and Martha Smith Harrell, he was born in Sycamore, GA on October 28, 1939. He was a retired truck driver of many years. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. Mr. Harrell was a former Mayor of Sycamore, GA.

Survivors include his wife Lelia S. Harrell of Sycamore, GA., two sons, Adam Joseph(Jennifer) Harrell of Jacksonville, NC, Rodney Junior Harrell of Altoona, FL, three daughters, Janet (Robert) H. Sowell of Altoona, FL, Cheryl ( Harold) H. Edge of Sycamore, GA, Molly Harrell of Ashburn, GA, two step-daughters, Connie (John) Knight of Leesburg, GA, Tammy (Alan) Cooper of Sylvester, GA, Surviving also is one brother, Foy Harrell of Tifton, GA, two sisters, Willie Joyner of Sycamore, GA and Wilma Mashburn of Gainesville, FL, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 24, 2014 from l:30 PM until the hour of service at the Bethel Baptist Church.
