Timothy Ray Dennard, Sr. died on Friday, December 17, 2004 at his farm in Ben Hill County near Rebecca, Georgia. The cause of death was an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Dennard was born in Macon, Georgia and grew up in Gordon, Georgia where he attended the public schools in Wilkinson County. He graduated from Gordon Military High School, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. After college, Mr. Dennard served on active duty in the United State Marine Corps. Mr. Dennard and his family lived in Macon, Ga. for many years before moving to Mims, Florida in 1982 here he became involved in real estate and construction. He started Continental Acreage Development Company and designed and developed Fawn Lake Subdivision in Mims.

In recent years, Mr. Dennard has spent a lot of time at Ivey Lakes Farm, a family farm located in Ben Hill and Wilcox Counties. There he was involved in extensive reforestation and efforts to improve wildlife habitat.

Mr. Dennard was the son of Hoyt L. Dennard, Sr. and Marjorie Bozeman Dennard, both now deceased. Hoyt Dennard was teacher of Vocational Agriculture and latter Superintendent of Schools in Wilkinson County and Marjorie was a Reading Specialist and latter Principal at Bergard School in Macon.

Tim Dennard is survived by three sons: Timothy Ray Dennard, Jr., James Shield Dennard both of Mims, Florida and Patrick Connors DiCarlo of Atlanta, Ga.; one Brother, Hoyt Lane Dennard, Jr. of Atlanta and a sister, Rebecca Dennard Stewart of Ft. Worth, Texas and a grandson, Jack Ryan DiCarlo of Atlanta, Ga.; a longtime family friend Ruby R. Horne, Lizella, Ga.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the Rebecca Methodist Church in Rebecca, Ga. After the service the family will receive at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lane Dennard, 1707 Dennard Road, Rochelle, Ga. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Foundation, Inc. for the Dennard Scholarship Fund at the following address: Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Foundation, Inc., 2802 Moore Highway, Tifton, Ga. 31794.
