Pat Stone, 85, of 806 Monnie Street, Ashburn, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Big Springs, Texas on January 8, 1930, Mrs. Stone had lived in Ashburn since 1964. She was the daughter of the late George Gabriel and Calla Utzman Smith. Mrs. Stone retired from the Turner County Board of Education where she was a 3rd grade teacher for 21 years. She was also a member of the Ashburn First United Methodist Church where she was a choir member for 51 years. Mrs. Stone was a member of the Peach State Ramblers RV Club for 20 years.
Mrs. Stone is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill Stone of Ashburn, Georgia; three sons, Mike (Bonnie) Bloomfield of Atlanta, Georgia, Billy Stone of Ft. Worth, Texas, and David Stone of Ashburn, Georgia; two daughters, Sherry (Hank) Greer of St. Louis, Missouri, and Kim Stone of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Bryan (Lindsay) Bloomfield of Atlanta, Georgia, Jeremy (Meagan) Bloomfield of Buford, Georgia, and Katie Greer of Los Angeles, California; one great-grandchild, Gracie Elizabeth Bloomfield of Atlanta, Georgia.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kelly Stone, and a great-granddaughter, Cameran Grace Bloomfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 12, 2015 in the Ashburn First United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. The family will greet friends, Wednesday, February 11 at the funeral home from 5-7 PM.
While flowers will be accepted, the family requests that donations be made to the Ashburn First United Methodist Church.
