Margaret Ponder

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ponder, age 84, 520 Ponder Rd., Ashburn, Ga. will be held Sunday, January 2, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sycamore United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mrs. Ponder died Friday, December 31, 2004 in Montezuma, Georgia following an extended illness.

Mrs. Ponder was born in Turner County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Jasper W. & Faithie Covington Newton. Mrs. Ponder had lived all of her life in Turner County and was retired from Manhattan Shirt Company. She was a member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church and was an avid gardener and furnished flowers for her church every Sunday. She was the widow of Robert Lee Ponder who died November 8, 1985. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Brad Ponder in 1998.

Mrs. Ponder is survived by one son and daughter in law, Wayne & Patty Ponder, Montezuma, Ga., grandchildren Rob Ponder, Perry, Florida and Matthew Ponder, Montezuma, Ga. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elsie McLeod of Sycamore, Ga. and Mrs. Wilda Rutland of Albany, Ga.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
