J. Vernon Tucker

Funeral Services for Mr. J. Vernon Tucker, 84, of Irwinville will be held Saturday, January 15, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Tucker passed away Wednesday at the Medical Center of Central Georgia from injuries received in a farming accident.

Mr. Tucker was the son of the late Elder Joe William and Bessie Lillian Beard Tucker. He was born in Irwin Co. and was a long time resident of Atlanta before moving back to Irwin Co. in 1985. A member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Turner Co., he was a retired building superintendent.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Baker Tucker, Irwinville, Ga., his children, Wayne Tucker, Slaughter, LA. and Natacha T. Stephens, Lilburn, Ga. His sisters, Joycie Fowler, McDonough, Ga. and Minnie C. Willingham, Albany, Ga.; Three Grandchildren and Three Great-Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 till 8 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
