Calvin Fielder Johnston

Funeral Services for Calvin Fielder Johnston, 90, of Ashburn, Ga. will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Ashburn First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Turner County. Mr. Johnston passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Tift Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.

The widower of the late Margaret Frances Hanbury Johnston and son of John Fielder and Lois Rachel Armentrout Johnston, he was born in Turner County, Ga. on March 4, 1925. Mr. Johnston was retired Director of Ashburn Housing Authority and businessman. He was a member of Ashburn First United Methodist Church, Ashburn, Ga. and a mason with Sycamore Lodge #210.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry (Sharon) Mills, Morriston, Fl. and Calvin F. "Vin" (Candace) Johnston of Leesburg, Ga., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one brother, George (Helen) Johnston of Ashburn, Ga. and his special caregiver, Jessie Buchanan. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura J. Pearce.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 5:00 until 7:00 at the Perry Funeral Chapel.
