Charlie Carter

Funeral services for Charlie H. Carter, 77, of Sycamore, Georgia will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Turner County, Georgia. Mr. Carter passed away Monday at his residence.

The son of the late John Wesley Carter, Jr. and Frankie Bell Willingham Carter, he was born in Turner County, Georgia on November 26, 1937. He served his country in the U. S. Army reserves and was a retired farmer. He was a long time member and deacon of Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Carter was a "Golden Deed's" recipient from the Turner County Exchange Club and he was also a twenty six year Heart Transplant survivor.

Survivors include his wife of fifty three years, Margie Goff Carter of Sycamore, Georgia, one son Jeff (Jill) Carter of Tifton, Georgia, one daughter, Pam (Dean) Harrell of Dexter, Georgia, two brothers, Tommy (Ceciler) Carter and Gary (Denise) Carter of Sycamore, Georgia, five grandsons, Justin (Krista) Carter, Josh McCard, Jacob Carter, Joe Harrell and Jess Carter.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 18, 2015 from five until seven at the Perry Funeral Chapel.
