Rev. Herman Mathews

Funeral services for Rev. Herman N. Mathews, age 77, of Florence, South Carolina will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Snowridge Cemetery in Ashburn. Rev. Mathews died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in Florence, S.C.

Rev. Mathews was born in Telfair County, Georgia and was the son of the late Will L. & Estelle Johnson Mathews. He was a long time resident of Tifton, Ga. before moving to Florence, S.C. in 2001. He was a retired minister and had served churches in South Georgia for over 27 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tifton. He was the widower of Cora Blue Mathews.

Rev. Mathews is survived by one daughter: Sue Mathews, Florence, South Carolina., two sisters, Nora Walker, Rhine, Ga. and Frances Knowles, Dalton, Ga.; Three Grandchildren and Two Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son: John M. Mathews.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00-900 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
