Funeral services for Dorothy Rogers Adair, age 87, of Ashburn will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Adair died Saturday, January 29, at Ashburn Health Care following an extended illness.
Mrs. Adair was born in Dakota, Turner County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Dr. Frank and Willie (Peedie) McGill Rogers. She had lived all of her life in Turner County.
She was a lifelong member of the Ashburn 1st United Methodist Church where she was a member of the church choir. She was a member of the Ashburn Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was an active member of the Ashburn community. She was a retired teacher of the Turner County School System and retired after 38 years in 1973.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James Cecil Adair of Ashburn. She was preceded in death by her sister Carolyne Rogers Jackson and her husband Justin. She is also survived by her Godchild Dianne Bacon, husband Ed and daughter Helen of Ashburn. Also surviving are Janice Cooke and husband Brian of Jacksonville, Fla. and their sons Justin, Jeremy and wife Susan, Dorothy Ray and husband James of Gulfport, Miss. and their children Jim and wife Winnie of Salt Lake City, Utah, and their children, Frank Ray and wife Kate, Rochester, Minn. and son Frank. David Ray and Claudia, and Jan Peleaz and children of Gulfport,Miss. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Mildred Wiley of Eastanollee, Ga.and her son Hendrix and Liz of Watkinsville and their children. Also surviving are
Mary Adair and Tom Mullin of Cocoa Beach, Fla. and their children. Also
surviving are Tim Pittman and children of Commerce, Ga.
Visitation will be Monday from 7:00-9:00 P.M.
