Elizabeth Virginia Self Murphy

Funeral services for Elizabeth Virginia Self Murphy, 83, of Ashburn, GA will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, April 20, 2015, at Perry Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Murphy passed away Friday at Pruitt Health of Ashburn following an extended illness. Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery in Ashburn.

The daughter of the late John Edward Self and Liney Jane Grice Self Pate, she was born in Ben Hill County and had lived in Turner County most of her life. A housewife, she was a member of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Allen Murphy, Sr, her sons, Dennis Allen Murphy, Jr and Kenneth Wayne Murphy and a brother, James William Self.

Survivors include her children, Mary Maxon of Rebecca, GA, Martha Self, Donald Murphy and David Murphy all of Ashburn, GA. She also has survived by thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 9:30 AM until the hour of services Monday at Perry Funeral Chapel.
