Funeral Services for Mr. Ira C. Martenn, Jr., 69, of Ashburn will be held Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. Martenn passed away Thursday following a lengthy illness.

A native and lifelong resident of Turner Co., Georgia he was the son of the late Ira Charles and Mary Lou Davis Martenn, Sr. Mr. Martenn was a retired Supervisor from the Bell South Telephone Co. He was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher, a Deacon and a member of the Georgia Baptist Builders and Disaster Relief Teams. He was an avid fisherman. He served his country in the U. S. Marines. He was preceded in death by a brother Earl Martenn in 1994 and a sister Elizabeth M. Nolan in 1977.

Survivors include his wife Karlene C. Martenn, Ashburn, Ga.; his children Chuck and Sandy Martenn, Sycamore, Ga., Judy M. and Jerry Whitehead, Ashburn, Ga., Beth M. and Jaime Montano, United Arab Emirates. His Grandchildren, Josh, Deanne , and Karla Martenn, Walt and Mary Whitehead, Tabatha and Benjamin Montano.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 till 8 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
