Dorothy "Dot" Beard

Dorothy "Dot" L. Beard, 76, of Sycamore passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at an Atlanta Hospital following a short illness.

Born on September 9, 1939 to the late Olin Darden and Gladys Donahoo Lane, she was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Beard fostered nine children, with each of them holding a special place with her.

Mrs. Beard is survived by her husband, Wallace Beard of Sycamore; a niece, Carla (Jr.) Belflower of Sycamore; nephew, Troy (Glenda) Williams of Sycamore; cousins, Royce Donahoo, Zollie Donahoo Pavlina, Earlene Hicks, Marie Lassey and Judy Rogers.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Bethel Baptist Church with interment to follow in Bethel Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 10:30 until the hour of service as well as immediately following the service in the church sanctuary.

While flowers will be accepted, the family asks that those who wish to do so make donations to Bethel Baptist Church, Sycamore, Georgia.
