Shirley C. Cribbs

Funeral services for Shirley C. Cribbs, 70, will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in the Amboy Baptist Church. Mrs. Cribbs passed away Thursday following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

The daughter of the late Lois Rebecca Cummings, she was born in Moultrie, GA and a member of the Amboy Baptist Church in Turner County. Mrs. Cribbs was retired from the Turner County Board of Education having taught school for forty years. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Valdosta State University and her Master’s Degree from Georgia Southwestern. She was one of the few teachers to have her lifetime professional teaching certificate.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Cribbs of Ashburn, and her daughter, Becky (Bill) Kent of Tifton. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael David Cribbs.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from Six until Eight at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn.
