Funeral Services for Pauline Howell Story, age 97, of 995 Jackson Road, Ashburn will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 4, 2005 at Perry Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Bay Springs Cemetery, Crisp County, Ga. Mrs. Story died Thursday at Ashburn Health Care after a long illness.
Mrs. Story was born February 29, 1908, in Wilcox County, Ga. the daughter of the late Bartow Cleve and Lydia Wright Howell. She graduated from Pavo High school and attended college at G. S. W. C. in Valdosta. She taught in grammar school in the late 20’s and 30’s in Crisp County. She had resided in Turner County, Amboy community, for the past 75 years. She was member of the Amboy Baptist Church where she had taught the Ladies Sunday School class. She was loving mother and was devoted to her family and her church. She was a resourceful person and was interested in growing flowers, sewing and fishing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn M. Story who died in 1972, and by two sisters, Lilla Mae Howell and Lillian H. Booth and one brother G. Woodrow Howell.
Mrs. Story is survived by three daughters and their husbands: Glynette S. and Hoyt W. Reid, Ashburn, Lydia S. and Harold F. Edwards, Leesburg, Betty S. and J. Lindon Bryant, Lilburn, Seven grandchildren: Elaine Reid Worley, Cordele, Wray M. Reid, Ashburn, Glenn F. Edwards, Charlotte, N. C.; Alan F. Edwards, Perry, Van H. Edwards, Fayetteville, Jim L. Bryant, Murfreesboro, Tn., Alex B. Bryant, Atlanta, and Three sisters: Chloe H. Duncan, Tifton, Lucy H. Jarman, Jefferson and F. Wynelle Howell, Tifton and one brother Earl S. Howell, Irwinville and Fourteen Great-Grandchildren and Two Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday evening Six until Eight at Perry Funeral Chapel.
