Funeral services for Cheryl Minter Cauley, age 58, of Tifton, Ga. will be held Monday, June 6, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel. With Cheryl’s pastor Doug Gibson officiating with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn with Cheryl’s nephew, Jason Minter officiating. Ms. Cauley died Friday, June 3, 2005, at Beverly Health Care in Tifton from complications of several prolonged illness that she courageously endured.
Ms. Cauley was born on December 17, 1946 in Tift County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Shelmer E. Minter, Sr. who died in 2002 and Doris Shannon Minter of Tifton, Ga.
Cheryl and her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she grew up and attended Jean Ribault High School and Florida Junior College to study accounting. Cheryl worked as a bookkeeper for several companies in Jacksonville and raised her son, Cecil. In 1977, she was involved in a catastrophic car accident that changed her life. After many surgeries, she and her parents returned to Tifton in 1985 and became members of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son and his wife, Cecil D. Cauley, Jr. and Laura Cauley, of Atlantic Beach, Florida; her mother, Doris S. Minter of Tifton, Ga., two brothers and their wives, Shelmer E. “Buddy” Minter, Jr. and his wife Wanda of Reidsville, Ga.; James S. “Jimmy” Minter and wife Sheila Minter of Tifton, Ga.; one sister and her husband, Laurice and John Jones of Lakeland, Fl. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and family Sunday from 4:00-6:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn, Ga.
