Willie Bailey

Funeral Services for Mr. Willie Bailey, 82, of Rochelle, Ga. will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday at the Pine City Missionary Baptist Church in Wilcox Co., Ga. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Bailey passed away, Saturday, June 18, 2005 in Cordele following an extended illness.

A native of Dooly Co., Ga. he was the son of the late Carling and Elmira Guilding Bailey and spent most of his life in Wilcox County. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Pine City Missionary Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons. He was a Mason with the Mt. Nebo Lodge #68. He served his country in WW II in the US Army. He was the widow of Carrie Lee Coley Bailey and was also preceded in death by a son, Otis Bailey and a granddaughter.

Survivors include his children, Joe C. Bailey, Sr. and his wife Barbara of Decatur, Ga.; Larry Bailey, Sr. of Rochelle, Ga.; Bernice B. Dantley and her husband Clarence of Rochelle, Ga.; Redith B. Cross and her husband Tony of Rebecca, Ga.; his brother, Jack Bailey of Wilmington, De.; Ten Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 12:30 Wednesday at the church until the hour of services.
