Roy Truelove, 87, of Ashburn passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born on January 26, 1929 to the late Harrison Truelove and Susie Mae Brooks Truelove Pitts he was a retired truck driver. His hobbies included fishing, visiting friends and family and operating his vegetable stand at Dollar General. He was known by most people as Turner County's "Tomato Man."
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edna McCook Truelove of Ashburn; children, Gloria (Tommy) McNair of Warwick, Carlos (Genny) Truelove of Tifton, Donna (Geoffrey) Pate of Arabi and Mary Ann (Mike) Stanaland of Tifton; brothers, Marcus (Carrie Lee) Truelove of Cairo and Jackie (Fran) Coats of Sycamore. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and his beloved pet, "Little Girl."
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Annie Pearl Bailey and Harvey Lee Truelove.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at New Prospect Cemetery. The family will greet friends beginning at 1:30 until the hour of services Saturday.
