Roy L. Duke

Roy L. Duke, 78, of Sycamore passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born on March 14, 1938, he was the son of the late Homer David and Rosa Beck Duke and a veteran of the United States Army. An avid outdoorsman, Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing and metal detecting. When his illness or the weather forced him to remain inside, he enjoyed reading and researching all things Civil War related.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah "Beth" Denham Duke of Sycamore; son, Bryan Duke of Sycamore; daughter, Donna Duke of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother, Donald Duke of Dalton; sisters, Shirley Wood of Jacksonville, Florida and Patsy Boswell of Clearwater, Florida.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 12:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel. The family will greet friends beginning at 11:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

While flowers will be appreciated, for those who wish, donations may be made to Sycamore Methodist Church or Hospice of Tift Area.
