Hazel Adkison McElmurray, 81, of Ashburn passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Tifton following an extended illness.
Born on November 3, 1934 to the late Elbert Jesse and Alice Lee Swain Adkison, she was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Mike McElmurray of Rochelle; daughters, Cindy McElmurray Barnard and her fiance, Andy Owen of Alapaha and Cheryl McElmurray Owens of Rebecca; brothers, Henry Milton Adkison of Putney and James Hansel (Emogene) Adkison of Albany; sister, Jessie Lee (Loyd) Waldon of Bessemer, Alabama; grandchildren, Cole Brewer and his friend, Randi Stepp of Ashburn and Eric (Kandi) Owens of Wray; greatgranchildren, Makenzie Owens and Mallorie Owens, both of Wray.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Staci Barnard and two brothers, Joe Adkison and Lester Adkison.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Rebecca with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Monday, July 11, 2016 at Perry Funeral Chapel.
