Funeral services for Mr. Loyd Everett Lavender, 93, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Lavender passed away Wednesday at Tift Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The son of the late Joseph Enoch and Eunie Mae White Lavender, he was born in Worth County, GA and was a retired farmer. He was a faithful member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and held many positions in the church. Mr. Lavender was a member of the Turner County Gideons Camp. He was a loving father and grandfather. He served his country in the US Army during WW II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a brother, Vernard Lavender and a sister, Gladys Dease.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lillis Beasley Lavender of Ashburn; his sons, Allen (Ann) Lavender, Jerry (Janice) Lavender all of Ashburn, and Cedric (Sharon) Lavender of Pitts; his daughters, Lisa (James) Pate of Cordele, and Celia (Huelen) Hammock of Ashburn. Eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Paul Lavender and Terry (Jan) Lavender and his sisters, Margaret Tribulak, Clovis Collier, Dorothy Dupree, Emma Mae Dupree, Betty June Alford, and Glenda (Brennis) Verhine.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
