Posey Shealy

Graveside funeral services for Posey W. Shealy, age 85. of Waveland, Mississippi will be held Friday, August 12, 2005 at 4:00 P.M. in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Shealy died Saturday in Waveland, Miss. following an extended illness.

Mrs. Shealy was born March 2, 1920 in Baker County, Georgia, and was a long time resident of Ashburn before moving to Waveland with her brother Hiram and his family in October 2000. She was the daughter of the late James E. and Nettie Mae Rizer Weathersby. She was a member of the Ashburn Methodist Church and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior when she was 17 years old. She loved the Lord and her family. Her greatest characteristic was her strength. Mrs. Shealy was a Master Cosmetologist & Beautician, having taught in New Orleans, LA and later operated her own shop in Ashburn.

Mrs. Shealey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Matthew Shealy in 1978, her son, Mason Matthew Shealy in 1974, six brothers, Kos, Clarence, Riley, John, Keaton and Harry Weathersby.

Survivors include one brother, Hiram Weathersby of Waveland, MS., two sisters, Iris Taylor, of Leeds, AL., and Clara Judy of Gautier, MS., two sisters in law, Ann Curles of Newton, GA. and Dot Weathersby of Bainbridge, GA., and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
