Ralph Griffin

Funeral services for Ralph R. Griffin, Sr., age 73, 46 Ralph Griffin Rd., Tifton, Ga. will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 4:00 P.M. at the Ashburn 1st Baptist Church with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mr. Griffin died Sunday at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Griffin was born in Tift County and was the son of the late Henry A. and Frankie Cravey Griffin. He resided in Tift County all of his life and was a farmer. In 1998, Mr. Griffin was named Tift County Conservationist of the Year by the Middle South Georgia Soil & Water Conversation District.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, LaRue B. Griffin, two sons and daughters in law, Ray & Charlotte Griffin, Jr. and Glenn & Belinda Griffin, all of Tifton, Ga. and three grandchildren, Amanda Griffin, Ralph Griffin, III, and Cole Griffin all of Tifton, Ga.

Also surviving is one brother, Raleigh Griffin, Sycamore, Ga. and three sisters, Hester Whiddon, Ashburn, Ga., Frances Womack, Tifton, Ga., and Millie Gilmore, Albany, Ga.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry Griffin, Charles Griffin, Benjamin Griffin, R.D. Griffin and Ronald Griffin, and two sisters, Elizabeth Carrington and Dorris Graves.

The family will receive friends from7:00-9:00, Monday at Perry Funeral Chapel.
