Funeral services for Donald W. Wiley, age 77, of Evans, Ga. will be held at 2:30, August 20, 2005 at the Sycamore Baptist Church, Sycamore, Ga. Mr. Wiley died Wednesday at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Wiley was born in Turner County, Ga. and was the son of the late Dewey Ernest & Myrtle A. Wood Wiley. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Old Stone United Methodist Church in Key West, Fl.
He was a retired Civil Service Management Analyst.
Mr. Wiley was a long time resident of Key West, Fl. before moving to Destin, Fl. and then to Columbia County, Ga. He was a Past Master of Anchor Lodge #182 in Key West, Fl. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, and Mahi Shrine Temple and was a Past Patron of the Fern Chapter of the Eastern Star in Key West, Fla. He loved square dancing and called square dances all over the world in his travels.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite E. Wiley, Augusta, Ga., his children, Jed V. Sawyer, Deltona, Fl., Cynthia L. Jennings, Evans, Ga., Kevin L. Wiley, Austin, Texas, and Donna M. Griffin, Dawson, Ga. Also surviving are three brothers, Charles W. Wiley, Sycamore, Ga., Rev. Jim Wiley, Tifton, Ga. and Gene Wiley, Hoboken, Ga. and six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Wiley.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn.
