Mildred Louise Brown Snow, 98 of Rebecca died Monday April 3, 2017 at Pruitt Health Care of Ashburn after an extended illness.
She was born June 15, 1918 in Irwinville, Georgia, the second of four children of A. L. Brown, Sr. and Molly Janet Revels Brown. On June 25, 1937, she married Edward James Snow, Sr. at the Irwinville Courthouse and they moved to Rebecca where they made their home together until Edward's death in 1991.
She was primarily a wife and mother, but worked at Jaco and Manhattan Factories, as a part-time mail carrier and as a Woodmen Of The World Insurance Sales Representative. She participated in the Rebecca Arts and Crafts Club and the Rebecca Spend The Day. She was also a longtime active member of the Rebecca United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her sisters and their husbands, Leola and Frank Bussell and Edith and Sam Martinez and her sister-in-law, Mildred Brown; her nieces and nephews, Marriel Brown, Bobby Bussell, Scott Martinez and David Bussell.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brother, Albert Leon (Buster or Al) Brown, Jr. of Cave Springs, Arkansas. Her children, Edward James and Nan King Snow of Mineral Bluff, George Andrew and Helen Young Snow of Valdosta, Emmett Brown Snow of Birmingham, Alabama and Don and Merilyn Kay Snow Collins of Rebecca. She also included as her daughters, Judith Meyer and Margaret Wallace.
Her grandchildren include Al and Sherrie Collins Smith of Ashburn, Danny and Shelly Snow Cummings of Newnan, Brett and Andrea Butler of Valdosta, Michael and Julie Condon of Portland, Oregon, Matt and Amy Snow of Birmingham, Alabama, Jim Collins and his fiance', Mandy O'Steen of Perry and Shane and Belinda Snow of Chesterfield, Virginia.
Her great-grandchildren include, Luke Smith, Ben, Sarah and Jake Cummings, Kaitelyn and Amber Butler, Kinsley Condon, Foster, Clark, Elizabeth, Brooklynn, J'veon, Juana Grace and Tyler Snow and Melinda, Georgia and Seth Snow.
Her nephews include Morgan Brown, Dana Brown, Charles Bussell and Todd and Linda Martinez.
The family requests no flowers or food, but that you make a donation to the charity of your choice in her memory.
Visitation will begin at 11 AM, Saturday, April 8 with the service to immediately follow at 12:00 PM at Perry Funeral Chapel. A private, family only committal service will follow.
