Lizzie Turner

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lizzie W. Turner, 93 of Ashburn, Ga. will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, September 19, 2005 in the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Turner passed away Saturday at Tift Regional Medical Center after a short illness.

Mrs. Turner was born November 8, 1911 in Taylor Co., Ga. to the late Slaughter and Amzie Watson. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Turner and a sister, Odessa Watson. She had resided in Ashburn most of her life and was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday School Class until her health prevented her from attending. She and her husband were the former owners of Turner’s Food Store. Mrs. Turner was also a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Magalene and Billy Baggett, a granddaughter Beverly Baggett and two great-grandchildren Sarah and Bill Baggett all of Ashburn. Her sisters, Tommie Hodges, Willachoochee, Ga., Jewel Phillips and Clarice Scott both of Ashburn, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening at Perry Funeral Chapel from seven until eight.
