Thomas Elize Williams, Jr. (Tommy), affectionately called “Jitterbug”, 77, of Sycamore, Georgia passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the Legacy Village, Tifton, Georgia where he had resided since March of 2017.

The funeral service will be held at Perry Funeral Chapel on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private at Lakeview Cemetery in Sycamore, Georgia. Visitation will be held on Friday at Perry Funeral Chapel from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

The son of the late Thomas Elize Williams, Sr. and Camilla Louise Houston Williams, he was born in Turner County on October 4, 1940. He was a member of the Clements Chapel Church. He graduated from Turner County High School in 1959. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country from 1959 to 1963. He was a trucker and owner of Williams Trucking before retiring due to ill health. He loved fishing, gardening, and supporting the Atlanta Braves as an avid fan.

Survivors include the siblings, Faye Cook, David (Linda) Williams, Tim (LaGayle) Williams of Ashburn, Georgia, Sammi (Curtis) Thompson of Callahan, Florida, and sister-in-law Jerri (Ray) of Mt. Holly, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Elize Williams, III, his sister, Peggy Paulk and his brother, Ray Williams.

The family wishes to express to a very special niece, Melanie McIntosh, their love and appreciation for her devoted and loving care of their brother.

The family will accept flowers given in his memory or donations made directly to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1925 Century Blvd., NE, Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345-3315.
