Dorris McCard

Graveside funeral services for Dorris “D.P.” McCard, age 85, 505 North Railroad Ave., Sycamore, Ga. will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. McCard died Monday at his residence following a sudden illness.

Mr. McCard was born in Turner County, Georgia and was the son of the late Samuel Pless and Tessie Dorris McCard. Mr. McCard served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was retired from the Marine Corps Logistic Base in Albany, Ga. He was of the Methodist faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Childs McCard, March 20, 2003.

He is survived by his children, Allen & Bernice McCard, Sycamore, Ga., Dale McCard, Cordele, Ga., Terry & Karen McCard, Adel, Ga. and Pam & Jud Hobby, Marietta, Ga. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
