Fred Rooks

Funeral Services for Fred Rooks, age 86, of 225 E. Williams Ave., Ashburn will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at 2:00 P. M. at the Bethel Baptist Church, Sycamore, Ga., with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Rooks died Monday at Tift Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

Mr. Rooks was a native of Coweta County, Ga. the son of the late Jonathan A. Rooks, Sr. and Lillie Ann Winkles Rooks. He was a Veteran of W.W. II serving in the U. S. Army.
He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church were he served as a Deacon. He was retired from the Turner County Board of Education ,Vehicle Maintenance Department and was an avid gardener, devoted husband, loving father, and greatest grandfather ever.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Josephine M. Rooks of Ashburn, one son Joel & Flora Rooks of Ashburn, two daughters Ellen R. & Delmer Bullington, Sycamore, Ga. and Judy R. & Jerry West, Tifton, Ga. two brothers Jerald Rooks, Dublin, Ga. and J. D. Rooks, Scottsdale, Arizona, eight grandchildren and thirteen Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Janet Elaine Rooks and Julie Lynn Howard.

The family will receive friends at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn, Tuesday evening Six until Eight P. M.
