James Edward Newell, 83, of Ashburn passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at his residence.
James was born on December 21, 1934 to the late George Albert and Emma Lou Brown Newell in Worth County. He retired from Tift County Public Works where he was a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his wife, Joann W. Newell of Ashburn; sons, Anthony (Shelia) Newell of Ashburn and Bryan (Sarah) Newell of Cordele; sister, Everlina Mauldin of Ashburn; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn will be held at a later date.
