Douglas Hester

Funeral Services for Douglas Stephen Hester, age 69, of 4465 Stanford Road, Ashburn will be held Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. at the Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hester died Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Phobe Putney Memorial Hospital after short illness.

Mr. Hester was a native and lifelong resident of Turner County the son of the late Homer Guy and Clara Marie Lipham Hester. He was a Law Enforcement officer having served at Chief Deputy for Turner County Sheriffs office and a man of many skills, especially carpentry. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Myra Craig Hester, Ashburn, Ga. his children Douglas Allen Hester, Luthersville, Ga. and Andrew Haden Hester, Ashburn, Ga., Beverly Kaye Austin, Conyers, Tammy Faye Stenson, Cordele, Ga. and Kathryn Elizabeth Hinkley, Lakeland, Fl. a sister Pear Lee Wynn Hudson, Ocilla, Ga. and fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son Greg S. Hester and two brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends Monday evening six until eight at the Bethel Baptist Church, Highway 32 East, Sycamore, Ga.
